This course is designed to help you become successful and confident language learners. Together, we will explore the characteristics that language learners possess, and engage in a variety of learning activities to develop them. Throughout this course we will read, watch, and listen to various texts and create many of our own texts to share with others.
The term for analyzing how you learn while you are learning is metacognition. Metacognition is generally defined as "thinking about thinking" or "knowing about knowing" [1, 2]. It involves being aware of one's own thought processes and understanding the ways one learns best, which includes monitoring and evaluating one's comprehension and learning strategies in real-time.
